Living Life to the Fullest - Thanks to the Dallas Ramp Project
On Saturday, July 14th, six dedicated and enthusiastic volunteers came out to build a ramp for Oneida, a spry 94 year old woman, in Dallas. The build took them nearly four hours to complete. As you can see, it was well worth their efforts as now Oneida has much easier access to the world beyond her front porch.
Oneida, both a talented beautician and small business owner, has always taken the world by storm. She owned her own salon for decades and throughout the years catered to hundreds of customers. She entered contest after contest and has the trophies, accolades and the photographs to prove it. In fact, she showed me a black & white picture of her standing proudly and holding her certificate at the National Beauty Culturists' League Convention that was held in Chicago in 1954. In her words, "I did it all, Baby."
Oneida has lived in her home since 1942. She has enjoyed over six decades of great memories - both inside and outside - of her house and this ramp will allow her to continue living her life to the fullest.
