What Goes Around...

Do you know that phrase: "what goes around, comes around?" Well, it came to mind when I was visiting with Louella this past Saturday as her ramp was being built by our talented volunteers - I'll get back to them in a minute.
You see, Louella dedicated nearly half of her life to taking care of people as a nurse for over 36 years. She thanks the Lord for her experiences and her good fortune throughout her career. She retired back in 1995 after decades of service and though her life now is rich and robust, she still misses her work very much.
Louella's days are now filled with church services and grandchildren. Lately, though, it has been getting increasingly difficult for her to get out of her house and into her car - Louella drives herself to and from church and to the store. She heard about The Dallas Ramp Project from a friend at church and decided to give us a call. Just two months later, a group of volunteers set out to build Louella her ramp.
Though Louella's porch area was partially shaded, the temperature hovered around one hundred degrees yesterday. Nevertheless, about ten volunteers spent nearly four hours building her ramp. The camaraderie was palpable on this build - there was a lot of smiling, clearly a lot of hard work and yes, a huge reward as it was truly a job well done - as you can see!
Thanks to the volunteers from Plain-O Helpers, the King of Glory Lutheran Church and the Rejoice Lutheran Church of Frisco, as well as our veteran team leaders Richie and Mac, Louella will be free to get out and enjoy her community and spread the word about The Dallas Ramp Project.
